Give a little time make a big difference
Cats Protection also welcomes volunteers with open arms, whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us!
If you can volunteer for up to three hours a week in your spare time, this will make all the difference to how much we can achieve and help more needy cats get a second chance of Happiness. People person?
If you are good with people you could be an ideal volunteer for visiting the homes of prospective new cat owners. You could also be a great help at fundraising events. Love to work with cats?
If you really want to get close to the cats and kittens in our care, there are always several hands-on roles available. These range from taking care of them on a day-to-day basis, to transporting them to their new homes or the vet. Maybe you're a lover of the great outdoors? If so, you could help with trapping ferals for our trap, neuter and release programme and combine your love of nature and cats to great effect Home Visitors
As many of our cats have had a bad start in life, we therefore like to carry out a home visit before we place each cat just to be sure everyone is happy with the arrangement. New home visitors are now needed and full training and support will be given, together with out of pocket expenses i.e. travelling.
Volunteers should live in any of the following post code areas NR30- NR35.
Your own enthusiasm will be welcomed.
If you are interested in doing any volunteering work for our branch then please fill in the form below and tell us about yourself and what you would like to get involved with. The more information you give us the better, as it will allow us to suggest roles that match your skills and background.
Lost and Found Cats Volunteer
Unfortunately our feline friends can occasionally stray or get lost, which can be extremely distressing for their owners. Our lost and found volunteers are passionate about reuniting lost cats and bringing families back together. They help cats and their owners by advertising lost cats and providing support, advice and guidance to people searching for their cats.

Fundraising events organiser
As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events. They support a team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
